According to Michael Valdes, he explains that the world of the metaverse continues to advance in the commercial sector, which is why the real estate industry has ventured into this virtual universe with the arrival on the Island of the Exp Realty company, which has grown during the pandemic and has chosen Puerto Rico among its main markets.

“We arrived in Puerto Rico, in April 2021, and we have had a very good year. The expectations are very good. The Island is the fifth most productive country of the 22 we have; it is a very strong market. Among all the countries, in the last quarter we broke a record with revenues of $1.4 trillion”, reported Michael Valdés, president of Exp Realty globally.

As he added, the company – which already has 168 real estate brokers working through the virtual platform – works in an innovative way, since clients can see the properties that are marketed through the metaverse world. This sales method was developed during the pandemic, when technology became more practical and necessary in all industries, especially in sales.

“We have almost 84,000 agents around the world. We are 100% technological, we wanted something totally virtual, without physical offices, so we have a virtual world with desktops and avatars. We are the first in real estate operating at the metaverse level”, explained Valdés.

According to the realtor, agents are notified when a prospective buyer is looking at their property, so they can integrate into the metaverse and interact with the client. Then the broker is known in person at the time of showing the property and during the closing with the banking institution.

“Lockdowns are different, depending on the rules and laws of the various countries, but in places like France and South Africa, it can already be done virtually. On the Island it is done in person,” Valdés indicated.
